New IRS Filing Requirements for House Corporations

A change in the tax code for tax-exempt organizations went into effect January 1, 2008. Learn more about the e-postcards that House Corporations need to complete.

This change in the tax code affects all house corporations organized as either a 501(c) 2 or 501 (c) 7 organization.

In the past, any non-profit organization with gross revenue less than $25,000 was not required to file a Form 990 with the IRS.  Any organization with revenues less than $25,000 will now be required to submit a Form 990-N, also known as an “e-postcard.”  This form is only available electronically from the IRS at www.irs.gov/eo.

The e-postcard will require the organization to provide basic information such as name and address, a principal officer contact and annual gross receipts.  The IRS may be contacted directly at 1-877-829-5500 or online at the above addresses for any necessary follow-up information.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the National House Corporation.
