"GREEK" TV series to air on ABC Family July 9

Tri Delta's response to ABC Family's new show, "GREEK."

Since early this year, we have been in close contact with entertainment reporters and producers of the upcoming "GREEK" series, and have offered Tri Delta as a resource for future story lines and segment plots that are more positive and representative of the Tri Delta sorority experience.  We know that many of you have seen promotional trailers for the series, have visited the "Virtual Rush" show Web site, or have heard about the show through word-of-mouth.

As a proactive organization, Tri Delta Executive Office staff and our PR firm are closely monitoring the marketing of the show and will track the topics covered in each episode, and are prepared and ready to respond as necessary.  While we are not formally protesting this show, Tri Delta is certainly committed to counteracting any and all negative stereotypes that exist about sorority women.  In addition to pursuing reporters who are writing about the show, we have also reached out to the show’s producers to act as a resource for fact-checking and to offer ideas for future episodes that accurately reflect sorority life on college campuses.

If you'd like to discuss your thoughts and feelings about the show with other Tri Deltas in a sisters-only forum, please visit the "GREEK" TV Show group on inCircle.  We
also would like to hear what you have to say!  Share your comments about the show with us.
