And the Crown Goes To...

Allison Krieger, Florida, was crowned Miss Florida 2006.
Allison Kreiger, a Spring 2006 cum laude graduate of the University of Florida was crowned Miss Florida 2006.  Allison was a four-year member of the University of Florida Gatorettes twirling team and a member of the university Senate; Allison worked extensively with the university health center and Panhellenic spreading awareness of the dangers of eating disorders. She was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma, Alpha Lambda Delta, Omicron Delta Kappa, Golden Key International Honor Society, Mortar Board and Phi Sigma Theta. Allison was the recipient of the 2005 Phyllis M. Meek for Susan B. Anthony Award honoring one female undergraduate or graduate student who promotes the opportunities, rights and advancement of women at the University of Florida and in the Gainesville community. 

Allison has served as a five-year NEDA coordinator for National Eating Disorders Awareness Week; in 2001 she established H.O.P.E., Helping Other People Eat, to reach out to those struggling with eating disorders.

As a public advocate on behalf of eating disorder awareness, Allison has spoken to thousands of students, from elementary through college, promoting healthy body image and acceptance. 

In addition to winning a scholarship in the amount of $20,000 Allison was the recipient of the Miss Florida Community Service award, the Miss America Community Service award and the overall Interview award bringing her scholarship total to $24,800.
