Tri Delta’s Endowment Celebration at St. Jude

On May 23, 2005, three years of hard work from Tri Delta’s collegians and alumnae culminated in an endowment celebration at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis Tennessee.  Tri Delta’s elected leaders and representatives from the top three fund-raising collegiate chapters gathered in the St. Jude atrium for presentation of a check for $1,367, 561.67. 

This staggering figure exceeded the 1 million dollar commitment that Tri Delta made to St. Jude, a full year ahead of schedule.  Thanks to the funds raised through the diligence of Tri Deltas everywhere, St. Jude is able to provide the equipment, general supplies and staff necessary to make the new Teen Room a fun, relaxing and therapeutic environment for teen patients.

University of Arizona’s Tri Delta Chapter Takes the Lead to Help Increase Safety on Campus

Tri Delta is the first sorority on campus to partner with the University of Arizona Police Department’s new Liaison Program.  With Tucson having one of the nation’s highest crime rates, the UAPD Liaison Program was designed to increase communication between the UAPD and students in order to prevent problems and increase safety around campus. 

Transylvania Tri Deltas Celebrate Education

Tri Delta’s Transylvania chapter organized a celebration of women across the Bluegrass and their accomplishments in the field of education.  Each speaker talked about her experiences and offered advice for students interested in education, and the celebration was well received by the community both within and outside of the university.

Tri Delta Women Discover Hope in Africa

Rachel Morgan and Jen Folsom of Wake Forest traveled to South Africa with the Mission of Good Hope group of the Volunteer Peace Corps.  The women helped teach a week-long computer literacy program to improve quality of life for 14 South African residents.  “The painful past of the apartheid in South Africa can be overwhelming, but the hope that I found in its people was empowering to me as a student, woman and as a human trying to survive in this world,” says Rachel.
